We founded Shadowgleam Showreels as a necessity.

A necessity for the world to start treating actors as fully rounded artists.
A necessity for actors to be able to completely trust the bond between them and the filmmakers and be able to fully express their true creative selves in all their beautiful choices.
A need for the filmmakers to have the freedom of creating compelling stories even in a short format; to have the freedom of encapsulating that ‘spark’ that makes you a unique actor and present it in its full richness.
A  need for casting directors to see something professional yet different, something that makes them stop and watch.

We created Shadowgleam Showreels because we’ve been in your shoes and we care.

Meet our Filmmakers

Tim

Tim is our in-house director. His biggest passion is probably of no surprise to you: films. Tim watches everything so if you’re looking for a conversation ice-breaker, just mention a movie title and you’re probably set.

Tim has created movies for as long as he can remember and even though we admit that the spy movies that he directed when he was 10 might not be academy award winners, after studying MA in Directing, he won numerous awards at film festivals, including Best Short Film and Best Director.

His biggest passion as a director is working with talented actors which is why he enjoys devising showreel scenes and treating them like industry projects. He also has a deep understanding of what it feels like to be in your shoes, having trained as an actor himself before becoming a filmmaker.

This deep consideration for actors and their struggle to get their talent seen is the reason why prior to starting this company, he interviewed agents and casting directors to find out exactly what it is that they are looking for in a showreel.

He will be here to create the vision for your showreel.

Alex is our in-house producer. Above all else, she loves interacting with people, so a good conversation ice breaker would probably be ‘Hello’.

Alex has always been passionate about the film industry. She trained as an actress and took all of her understanding of people and human connections into her approach to the craft. After years in the industry, she can say that what actors really need is to be seen by the right person.

Her people-oriented personality made her want to help other actors showcase their talent in the right way. She enjoys the planning and team-leading side of producing but it is ultimately her people-loving nature that brings her joy in creating the perfect showreel for each actor.

She is most likely the person that will send you all forms and questions prior to the scene being written and if you have any bold ideas or issues that you want to put forward, please don’t worry. She loves a good challenge.
